About Me
I am an ecologist interested in the natural history and conservation of our planet’s many extraordinary species of plants and animals. I like research steeped in a combination of field work and novel quantitative techniques to answers questions like ‘why do some species live longer than others?’. I'm particularly fond of working with birds because they occur in a wide array of habitats on every continent, are well sampled globally, and I enjoy watching them go about their daily lives. I also like working in the tropics. I use a variety of approaches including mark-recapture methods, spatial modeling, and natural history observations to investigate variation in avian life history strategies, patterns of species occurrence, and factors that influence the survival rates of species....
